Justin Centanni was elected to be Lafayette Parish’s 24th Assessor on October 14, 2023. 

For the preceding 9 years, he served as the District 6 representative on the Lafayette Parish School Board, focusing budget reforms and strategic planning that led to construction of 6 new schools and expansions at 12 more to accommodate the population growth of the Parish.  He served as the Board President in 2019 and Vice-President in 2023.

Justin, 46, is the Vice-President of Enterprise Data Integration for First Horizon Bank and has made a career of solving critical problems leveraging data and technology.

He spent time living in Washington, DC working for a Defense Department contractor, developing the software behind the military’s Smart ID cards.  Most of his career has been spent with financial institutions, most notably IberiaBank, where he worked for 12 years prior to the bank’s merger with First Horizon.

He is a first degree Knight of Columbus, a member of the Beaver Club of Lafayette and was honored as one of Acadiana’s Top 20 Under 40 in 2015.

Justin met his wife, Marie DesOrmeaux, while at USL and has a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems with a Minor in Mathematics.  The Centannis live in Lafayette and have three children who are products of the Lafayette Parish French Immersion and Gifted programs.
